The head of the Professional Football League (PFL) of Uzbekistan Omon Gafurov submitted his resignation letter, the organization's media center reported.
“Over the past years, we have done everything we could to develop football in the country. I would like to thank the team I worked with during this period. I wish the new leadership of the Uzbekistan Football Association strength, success and victories. Where there is work, there are mistakes and shortcomings. For this, I apologize to the country's football community, football fans. Uzbek football and its fans deserve great victories. Thank you for everything,” Omon Gafurov said.
It should be recalled that Omon Gafurov was appointed head of the PFL at an extraordinary meeting of the Football Federation in October 2017.
Gafurov was born on August 14, 1984 in the city of Tashkent. He graduated from the Uzbek State University of World Languages. Throughout his career, he worked in many sports organizations, including the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Uzbekistan.
