A cooperation was achieved between the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, the National Olympic Committee and the Uzbek Football Association. Today, May 3, a memorandum "On cooperation by training sports managerial staff" was signed in the UWED meeting hall.
According to the memorandum, it is planned to train personnel of sports management at the UWED, to set up strong relationships with various national and international sports federations, as well as to establish the department of "Sports law" at the university’s master’s degree program.
According to Umid Akhmadjanov, the president of the NOC and the first vice-president of the UFA, within the framework of the cooperation, it is envisaged that UWED students will travel to foreign countries jointly with the national team of Uzbekistan to attend various sports events.
“From the coming weeks, our collaborative work begins with the involvement of talented students recommended by the university. They will travel to foreign countries together with our boxing or judo delegation.
In accordance with the instructions of the President, we have appealed to the Olympic Council of Asia to host the 2030 Asian Games in Tashkent and Samarkand. Until then you go abroad and learn, we cannot do anything without your help. The University will be given 10 seats for the next year's Tokyo Olympics," the NOC president said to students.
It should be noted that on the basis of the signed memorandum, the work on training of the necessary personnel for qualitative preparation for the Asian Games will be held.
The event at the university was attended by the First Deputy Rector of UWED Matyokub Bakoyev, Deputy Rector for International Relations Saidmukhtor Saidkasimov, Secretary General of the NOC Jasur Matchanov, other officials and athletes, as well as students.
Moreover, NOC officials, accompanied by the UWED leadership, visited the university library. Umid Ahmadjanov gifted special books of the NOC to the library.
