It is expected that Murodjon Akhmadaliyev (5-0, 4 KO’s) will fight for WBA world championship title in the Super Bantamweight category (-55,34 kg) in the pro boxing.
According to the publication GoSport.uz, Murodjon Akhmadaliev's promoters are negotiating with an American champion in the same title Daniel Roman (26-2-1, 10 KO's) to arrange the match. Final agreement on the fight is scheduled for February 6. If both sides fail to agree within 48 hours, the WBA headquarters will start an open trade for organizing the competition in Panama.
In accordance with the primary condition of the trade, the minimum prize fund of the contest should consist of $120,000. At the same time, the current champion receives 75% of the prize fund, the claimant – 25%. It means that Murodjon Akhmadaliyev will receive at least $31,250 as an award.
“I cannot say anything beforehand about the negotiations on the fight with Roman. For example, Roman may choose another match to postpone the fight for another term. Maybe, he wants to fight with totally different opponent. However, we hope that this year Murodjon will go for the title fight. Negotiations are underway. Fighting can be delayed due to certain reasons. But our main goal is to arrange a title fight for Murodjon this year,” GoSport.uz quoted from the statement of the “Mir boksa” promoting company’s manager Vadim Kornilov.
For information, Akhmadaliev has climbed fast in the WBA rankings and is currently the number one challenger. In addition, he is the Inter-Continental champion, which he has successfully defended in the only occasion in which he has exhibited it.
