Uzbekistan national football team players will receive a cash prize for each victory at the Asian Cup in the UAE, Kun.uz correspondent reports citing the first vice-president of the Uzbekistan Football Association Umid Akhmadjanov as saying.

“In Uzbekistan, everyone has high hopes on you, people are waiting for victories. Every day we are watching your training sessions, as preparations for the tournament are proceeding. We want you to play a beautiful game, to please millions of fans and the entire Uzbek people. The Uzbekistan Football Association is ready to create every necessary condition for your training. We will fulfill all the requirements of the head coach. For each victory, you will receive cash prizes,” he said.

“The time has come to become champions. God willing, we will bring the Asian Cup to Uzbekistan, we will please the fans, all the people and the president. We must act and do our best,” said Akhmadjanov.

At the same time, the head coach of the national team Héctor Cúper noted that money is not the primary motive for football players.

“The national team is united by only one goal, and we are ready to give everything for victory. Remuneration is a minor issue. As part of the national team, the players play primarily for their homeland. I hope that together we will realize all the goals,” said Cúper.

It should be noted that the national team of Uzbekistan will play their first match against Oman today at 17:30 local time in Sharjah.
