Umid Akhmadjanov departs for Qatar to attend the FIFA summit

The President of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, First Vice-President of UFA Umid Akhmadjanov departed for Qatar early in the morning to attend the FIFA summit, the press service of the National Olympic Committee reported.

On December 11-13, in the capital of Qatar, Doha, representatives of FIFA 5 confederations from 50 countries will discuss various topical issues. It is worth noting that the Football Association of Uzbekistan was also invited to the event. Doha has already hosted the FIFA summit in February 2017. And this is the second FIFA summit in the Qatari capital.

During the summit in Qatar, such issues as the preparation for the FIFA competitions will be discussed and the reports of the Organizing Committee will be heard. Financial support for football associations from FIFA will also be considered. In addition, practical proposals for the development of a VAR system will be studied.

“It is important for us to meet with FIFA member associations. It is expected that during these meetings they will be able to find answers to their questions. Through the FIFA summits we are trying to solve the global problems of world football,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino said.
