President Mirziyoyev accepts credentials of newly appointed ambassadors

According to the presidential press service, the head of state accepted the credentials of Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates – Saeed Matar Al-Qemzi, Iran – Hamid Nayyerabadi, Ukraine – Mykola Doroshenko, Italy – Agostino Pinna, Israel – Zehavit Ben-Hillel, Pakistan – Syed Ali Asad Gilani and India – Manish Prabhat.

“Shavkat Mirziyoyev sincerely congratulated the ambassadors on the commencement of diplomatic activities in Uzbekistan and wished them great success in implementing their responsible and honorable mission to further develop bilateral relations and expand multifaceted cooperation,” the report said.

In his statement, the President highlighted the democratic changes and socio-economic reforms ongoing in Uzbekistan, including the program of anti-crisis measures to overcome the consequences of the global pandemic. He also emphasized the commitment to pursue a constructive and pragmatic foreign policy based on the principles of mutual trust and respect, equality and consideration of interests, openness and good-neighborliness.

The priority task is noted to be the strengthening of bilateral relationship and partnership with foreign states, as well as the promotion of economic diplomacy – cooperation in such key areas as trade and investment, high technology and innovation, digitization, transport and logistics, banking and finance, including through interaction within international organizations and financial institutions.

“The President of Uzbekistan expressed his gratitude to the heads of the states that are represented by the newly appointed ambassadors for supporting the membership of our country in the UN Human Rights Council. This historic event is evidence of wide international recognition of the progress made in the country in the field of human rights,” the press service noted.
